The name of Dushyant Gautam is again hot off the press after he was installed as Governor of Sikkim. No sooner did the news of his appointment percolate than the main opposition party Congress showed protest against the decision of the government. His appointment dredged up the Ankita Bhandari murder case in 2022.

Ankita Bhandari, a receptionist at BJP leader's Resort in Rishikesh, was murdered and three accused were sentenced. The receptionist was allegedly forced to provide ‘extra service’ to the VIP. The VIP term was used for BJP leader Dushyant Gautam seeking favour of ‘extra service’. However, he filed a defamation case denying any involvement in the case.
