ALIMCO signs MoU with HURL
In a significant step towards advancing social inclusion and empowering Divyangjan and senior citizens, the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a Government of India Enterprise under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, and Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a ₹7 crore CSR initiative.

During the MoU signing, Praveen Kumar, CMD, ALIMCO, and Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, MD, HURL, emphasised the importance of collaborative CSR initiatives in promoting social inclusion, expanding access to assistive technology and improving the quality of life of underserved communities.

Under this partnership, HURL will extend CSR support for the adoption and strengthening of PMD-VK Gorakhpur and the organisation of assistive device distribution camps in Barauni, Bihar, and Sindri, Jharkhand.

The initiative will facilitate beneficiary identification, professional assessment and distribution of appropriate assistive devices, including prostheses, orthoses, wheelchairs, hearing aids and other assistive aids, along with post-distribution follow-up and maintenance support, as applicable.

This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of ALIMCO and HURL to ensuring that Divyangjan and senior citizens have access to appropriate assistive solutions that enable greater mobility, dignity, independence and meaningful participation in society.

By combining institutional expertise with CSR-driven social responsibility, this partnership reinforces the vision of an accessible, inclusive and empowered India where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and independence.
