SAIL reinstates two prematurely retired officers but denies access to work in office
The officers on the rolls of SAIL are being denied entry to office and access to medical facilities
SAIL no longer seems to be a PSU but it has become a personal fiefdom of the powerful
The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) SAIL had prematurely retired its 11 officers including the Whistle Blower Rajeev Bhatia who exposed corruption of over Rs 800 crores in SAIL through “Highly Stigmatic” orders on February 11, 2025.
From Sep 2026 i.e. after keeping the officers under illegal premature retirement for over 18 months SAIL has voluntarily started withdrawing the premature retirement orders. It has been gathered from sources that till date orders for two officers have been withdrawn by the appointing authority by issuing written orders to this effect.
The matter is much more than what is meeting the eyes. The withdrawal of the premature retirement orders has brought another horrendous face of SAIL certified as “Great Place to Work” by an organisation “Great Place To Work” which claims itself to be the global authority on workplace culture on its website.
Sources report that although premature retirement orders have been withdrawn, the officers are not being allowed to enter and work in the office. Not only are they being kept away from the workplace, they have also not been given access to the much-needed medical facilities which are available to all the officers of SAIL.
There is a concept in the central government where orders of a few bureaucrats bear an endorsement “awaiting posting”. In such cases the officers are given salary, medical facilities and all other benefits. However, SAIL, a central PSU is setting a new trend by not only denying medical facilities but salary also.
Both the officers, against whom the above said horrendous act is being played, belong to the Central Marketing Organisation of SAIL, a unit headed by T N Natarajan, Director (Commercial). It has been further gathered that the cardinal cerebrum behind the issuance of Stigmatic premature retirement orders & their subsequent withdrawal and treatment being given post withdrawal is the HR department of SAIL, which is headed by K K Singh Director (Personnel) of SAIL.
The role of CMD SAIL in the whole process is yet to be known. Bureaugram.com will apprise its readers as soon as his role comes to light.
Following the footsteps of SAIL, probably under instructions from the Ministry of Steel, another Steel PSU also prematurely retired its 7 officers on April 2, 2025 through similar stigmatic orders. Will this PSU again follow SAIL after withdrawing premature retirement orders of its officers?
