Official Language Hindi is a common link connecting the various states, languages, dialects, and cultures of the country. Despite changing times and the influence of digital technology, Hindi has a bright future and has the potential to evolve to suit every situation. These views were expressed by senior journalists from across the country at a special Hindi media seminar held on the second day of the IIM Nagpur Media Conclave 2026.

Anant Vijay, Features Editor of Jagran Group, Madhukar Upadhyay, senior journalist and former Editor of BBC Hindi, and Sanjay Tiwari, Group Editor of Navbharat, participated in this seminar organized as part of the ongoing Hindi Month at IIM Nagpur. Rashmi Khedikar, a renowned anchor from Nagpur, moderated the discussion.

Anant Vijay said that the language and expression of the new India is changing. "Hindi is enriched by adopting useful words from other languages, including English. However, the tendency to unnecessarily incorporate English words into Hindi content, often in English script, is not appropriate. Hindi must evolve with the times, but its original identity must be preserved."

Senior journalist Madhukar Upadhyay said that dialects are the true medium of communication, and that these dialects are the foundation of Hindi. "Strong dialects have enriched Hindi and given it the ability to remain vibrant. Hindi, carrying its various dialects with it, moves forward and connects the entire country."

Sanjay Tiwari said that to connect with the youth, Hindi media should use simple, easy-to-use, and modern words that they can easily understand and relate to. "All languages have their own rich traditions, but Hindi is the common thread that connects people from different parts of the country."

Giving a message to the new generation, the three senior journalists said that Hindi has the potential to connect Indians across geographical, social, and cultural boundaries.

The discussion also addressed topics such as simple and conversational Hindi, the growing use of Hinglish, translation between Indian languages, regional journalism, the changing language of youth, and the potential of Hindi globally. At the conclusion of the session, all speakers and the moderator were honored.
