SAIL PROJECT SCAM: Vinod Gupta: “Ye Dil Mange More”
………and with Ministry’s Silence; Compromised SAIL Vigilance; Dumb Government & Independent Directors, SAIL officials blatantly & happily extract “More and More” from SAIL’s exchequer with complete impunity.
Not only born to an IAS father, born with a Silver Spoon in mouth, before becoming Regional Manager of Southern Region, where his son got admission in SRM University, he also held prime lucrative posts of Branch Manager Faridabad & Ghaziabad, Regional Business Manager for Long & Flat Products in Northern Region because of his father’s influence; But still “Dil Mange More”.
In our last story we exposed how a Long Product Steel Service Centre: B Rathish Balaji was converted into a FAKE Project and sold about 9,500 T of TMT Bars & Coils. Here Gupta converted a Flat Product Steel Service Centre into a FAKE Project and sold HR Coils & GP Coils at negotiated prices.
Gupta takes over as RM-SR in Feb 2018; On Mar 19, 2018, Ignite Steel Solution, a firm promoted by the promoters of Triveni Enterprises, takes GSTIN with nature of Core Business Activity as “Trader-Retailer”; Sales on negotiated prices started in May 2018.
Triveni Steel or Triveni Enterprises is primarily a Flat Product Steel Service Centre based in Bangalore.

On being promoted to Chief General Manager, Gupta took over as Regional Manager of Southern Region in Feb 2018. On Mar 19, 2018, Ignite Steel Solution, a firm promoted by the promoters of Triveni Enterprises, took GSTIN with the nature of Core Business Activity as “Trader-Retailer”.

Ignite Steel Solution is registered at the premised adjacent
to Triveni Enterprises
Over 4,000 Tonne of steel products sold to this FAKE PROJECT with Flat Products primarily HR Coils & GP Coils accounting for 3,500 Tonne.
Vinod Gupta was also suspended on Jan 19, 2024 along with other officers for being part of the process of sales to FAKE PROJECT - Venkatesh Infra Projects P Ltd. If sources are believed, his superannuation on Apr 30, 2026 will also witness withholding of retiral benefits. However, the questions again arise:
A. Will the retiral benefits amount of about Rs 60 to 65 lacs expected to be withheld, be enough to recover the loss SAIL incurred due to Gupta’s indiscreet untrustworthy actions?
B. When will the Ministry; CVO SAIL; Government & Independent Directors awake from slumber?
C. How long SAIL would be looted by its own officials?
(The above article has been written based on extensive research and inputs from various sources including sources from SAIL)
