MIDC CEO delivers keynote address
At the ET Business Growth Summit 2026, Deependra Singh Kushwah (IAS), CEO, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), delivered the Keynote Address, highlighting Maharashtra’s evolving industrial landscape and its vision for the future of economic growth.

Maharashtra’s industrial transformation is increasingly defined by a strategic approach that builds upon the distinct strengths of its regions, creating new centres of industrial excellence, technological advancement and investment.

Gadchiroli is being positioned as an emerging steel city, with Eastern Vidarbha envisaged as a steel corridor. Pune continues to strengthen its position as a leading hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), technology and research. Nashik is emerging as a strategic centre for defence and aerospace manufacturing, building upon its established industrial capabilities. Nagpur is advancing as a strategic logistics, aviation and manufacturing hub, with MIHAN, the proposed Nagpur-Wardha National Mega Logistics Hub and investments in solar manufacturing expanding the region’s economic potential. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is emerging as a key automobile and automotive manufacturing hub, strengthening Maharashtra’s position in India’s automotive value chain. With world-class industrial infrastructure at AURIC, the region is attracting investment and creating new opportunities across the automotive and advanced manufacturing ecosystem.

This transformation reflects a broader vision: to expand industrial opportunities beyond traditional centres, attract investments across regions, strengthen local industrial ecosystems and create new avenues for employment and enterprise.

With focused industrial infrastructure, progressive policy initiatives and an enabling environment for investment, MIDC continues to play a pivotal role in advancing Maharashtra’s industrial ambitions.

Multiple growth centres. Distinct regional strengths. One shared vision, i.e. a stronger, more competitive and future-ready Maharashtra.
