Jatin Kumar Nayak, Executive Director, REC Ltd, has taken over the charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA). Nayak holds a master’s degree in commerce from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India and a qualified Company Secretary. He combines financial acumen with an understanding of governance, regulatory affairs and the operational realities of large public-sector organizations.

He held the position of Executive Director (Finance) at REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under Ministry of Power, Govt of India. He had also served as Chief Financial Officer of erstwhile REC Transmission Projects Company Limited, a subsidiary of REC. Earlier in his career, he worked with NHPC Limited, Hindustan Copper Limited, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited.

He has over 34 years of diverse experience. His extensive experience spans the power sector and resource intensive industries, including mining and metals. He also brings substantial expertise in domestic and international resource mobilization, strategic treasury management, corporate finance, taxation and legal affairs, project appraisal and monitoring, lending operations, loan recovery, and stressed asset management.
