Ayush Gupta, Director (HR), GAIL (India) Limited, has been conferred the “Mahatma Award 2026 for Lifetime Achievement in Social Responsibility and Social Impact” in the Individual Category, in recognition of his exemplary leadership and enduring contribution to people development, social responsibility and inclusive growth.

Under his leadership, GAIL has created sustainable value for communities through impactful CSR initiatives, across healthcare, education, skill development, women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability, rural development and social inclusion.

During FY 2025-26, GAIL’s CSR initiatives reached over 25 lakh beneficiaries, supported by an investment of ₹179.59 crore.

One of GAIL’s flagship initiatives, GAIL Utkarsh, has empowered talented students from underserved backgrounds. In 2025-26, 159 out of 175 engineering aspirants qualified JEE Mains, with 29 securing admission to IITs. All 50 girl students enrolled under the medical entrance coaching programme qualified NEET 2026, underscoring the program’s transformative impact.

Ayush Gupta has also consistently championed initiatives that strengthen employee well-being, inclusion, capability building and leadership development, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration and organisational excellence.
