Fierce battle for Director (Power), BHEL
Three Executive Directors: Vinod Jacob Sam, Nishit Babyloni and N Ramesh Kumar, who could not be selected for the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), are now trying their luck for the post of Director Power falling vacant on March 1, 2027.
Meanwhile, the name of a General Manager level officer in BHEL, Navin Kaul is also being seen as a strong contender for the post. Besides, a few officers from NTPC are also heard to be in the race. Present incumbent Tajinder Gupta is from NTPC.
Rumour has it that if PESB fails to find a suitable candidate and recommends the concerned Ministry to choose a candidate through Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC), the incumbent may get succeeded in having an extension to the post until the appointment of a regular Director Power.
