The National Association of Indian Nurses of America (NAINA) with Collaboration of TNAI marked its 20th anniversary with its 10th Biennial Conference, held from October 1 to 3, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. Guided by the motto “Embracing Diversity & Celebrating Excellence,” NAINA is a professional body that brings together Indian-origin nurses and promotes nursing practice, leadership, professional development, and excellence in nursing. Under the presidency of Umamaheswari Venugopal (2025–2026), the conference brought together nursing leaders, practitioners, and academicians, and recognised distinguished professionals for their contributions to the nursing profession.

At the anniversary celebrations, Dr.  Gopichandran L, PhD (MSN), FCRMEBM (AIIMS), Assistant Professor and Consultant in Neuro Nursing at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, was honored with the inaugural prestigious Nursing Excellence in India–Global Award. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to nursing excellence, leadership, and service, and his role in advancing the nursing profession with a global impact. The honor was presented during the anniversary celebrations in the presence of NAINA’s leadership and delegates, recognizing his contributions to neuro-nursing practice, professional development, and the advancement of nursing standards in India and internationally.
