A delegation from the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) visited IIM Calcutta and met with Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Director, IIM Calcutta, to explore opportunities for deepening institutional partnership and developing sustained academic collaboration between the two institutions. The delegation was led by Dalston Pung, President, Gedu College of Business Studies, Royal University of Bhutan, and Dawala, Dean of College Operations / Faculty in Marketing & Entrepreneurship, Royal University of Bhutan, Bhutan.

The discussions explored potential avenues of cooperation across academic programmes, executive education, faculty and student engagement, research collaboration, joint initiatives, and knowledge exchange. The interaction reaffirmed the shared interest of IIM Calcutta and RUB in building a meaningful and enduring institutional relationship.

The delegation also participated in the three-day International Conference on “Freshwater Sustainable Governance and International Law: Asian Perspectives on Transboundary Resources, Hydro-Politics, and Basin Governance,” being held from 5–7 October 2026.

The engagement represents an important opportunity to strengthen India–Bhutan academic and institutional linkages and to develop new platforms for collaboration, knowledge sharing and capacity building between the two institutions.
