Prashant Patil, IAS, Deputy Director General of Maritime Administration, addressed the inaugural session of the Maritime Opportunities Summit & Sagar Gaurav Puraskar 2026 on October 9, 2026 as Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of strengthening shipping, shipbuilding, ports, maritime services and green fuel infrastructure to advance India’s maritime ambitions.

He also presented the Sagar Gaurav Puraskar to industry leaders across diverse sectors, including cargo and multimodal operations, fleet management, green energy, naval architecture, LNG carriers, bulk cargo operations and maritime training.

The event recognised the contributions of maritime stakeholders towards strengthening India’s maritime sector and advancing its vision of becoming a leading global maritime nation.
