Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) signed a pivotal Teaming-cum-Supply Agreement with Sahana Defence Limited (SDL) at Navi Mumbai to collaborate on the co-development and supply of critical components for the AK-203 assault rifle program.

The strategic partnership is aimed at catering to the requirements of Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL), reinforcing indigenous manufacturing capabilities under the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.

The formal agreement documents were exchanged between Anoop Kumar Rai, Director (Marketing), BEL, and Brig. Rajiv Kumar Singh (Retd.), Chief Strategy Officer, SDL. The ceremony was held in the presence of Shri Jayandran I, General Manager (NAMU), BEL, along with senior executives and technical teams from both organizations.

Through this alliance, BEL and SDL will leverage their combined engineering expertise, advanced manufacturing infrastructure, and technological know-how to ensure high-precision, reliable indigenization of sub-assemblies and components for the AK-203 rifles being manufactured for the Indian Armed Forces.
