Coal Minister Kishan Reddy reviews performance of MCL
G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Coal & Mines, reviewed the performance of our subsidiary, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), at Bhubaneswar.
At the outset, Minister interacted with MCL’s women rescue team and commended Coal India for its initiatives in promoting Nari Shakti.
During the review meeting, Reddy assessed the performance of Talcher Fertilizers Limited, a joint venture between Coal India, GAIL, Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited, and Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited.
He emphasized the importance of coal gasification in strengthening India’s energy security. The Minister also highlighted Coal India’s efforts in spearheading India’s coal gasification journey through the establishment of Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited, a joint venture with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, for the development of a Coal-to-Ammonium Nitrate project. He also held an interactive session with various stakeholders on the sidelines of the review meeting.
Reddy also met Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha, and discussed various issues related to coal mining and the development of the sector in the state.
Sanoj Kumar Jha, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal; Chairman, B Sairam; Uday Anant Kaole, CMD, MCL and senior executives of MCL were present on the occasion.
