CIL & HURL sign MoU
Coal India Limited (CIL) and Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore setting up a Coal Gasification-based Ammonia-Urea Plant at HURL Sindri.
The initiative seeks to harness domestic coal through coal gasification to produce synthesis gas for ammonia and urea production, bringing together CIL’s expertise in the coal sector and HURL’s experience in large-scale fertiliser manufacturing.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the Director (Business Development-CIL),Vice Chairman (HURL & Executive Director-CIL), Managing Director (HURL) and other esteemed dignitaries from CIL and HURL.
A collaboration that advances resource optimisation, energy security and fertiliser self-reliance, while opening new pathways for reducing dependence on imported fertilisers and natural gas.
