Three hydrogen fuel-based buses are being flagged off alongside electric buses at the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. These buses have been manufactured by NTPC Dadri under the Green Hydrogen-Based Mobility Project and are set to operate with the support of the Yamuna Authority. Green hydrogen mobility is a new and innovative concept in which buses run on hydrogen fuel instead of diesel.

Key benefits: This project utilizes water from a sewage treatment plant and does not exploit groundwater;  Consequently, 2,080 kilograms of oxygen will be produced, an amount equivalent to planting approximately 1,750 trees; hydrogen fuel cell buses will emit only water vapor, thereby causing no air pollution; through this project, carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions will be reduced by approximately 1,000 tonnes annually; this project represents India's largest green hydrogen mobility initiative, featuring buses that are 12 meters long and have a seating capacity of 42 passengers.

Each bus can be refueled with 5.6 kilograms of hydrogen, enabling a travel range of 750 kilometers on a single fill. This green hydrogen-based mobility project marks a significant step towards energy efficiency, environmental conservation, and sustainable transport. Not only will this project reduce pollution, but it will also pave the way for a green transport model for the future.
