World Environment Day Celebrations at Coal India
World Environment Day 2026 was celebrated at our Corporate Headquarters in Kolkata under the theme "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future."
The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the Environment Flag by our Chairman, B Sairam in the presence of Director (HR), Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (Technical), Achyut Ghatak, and Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Brajesh Kumar Tripathy and senior officials and members of CILOWS.
Director (Technical), Achyut Ghatak, and CVO, Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, administered the Environment Day Pledge to employees in English and Hindi, respectively.
On the occasion, a booklet titled "Mission Green 2026," highlighting Coal India’s environmental initiatives, was also unveiled. During the event, women contractual workers were felicitated by members of CILOWS.
Addressing the gathering, our Chairman emphasized the importance of balancing the nation’s energy requirements with environmental protection and called for the judicious use of energy.
As part of the celebrations, Chairman, Functional Directors, President, and Vice Presidents of CILOWS planted saplings at our office premises.
