'World Environment Day' 2026 Celebrated at NCL
'World Environment Day' 2026 was celebrated at NCL with the theme "Inspired by Nature: For the Climate, For Our Future."
During the event held at the NCL headquarters, NCL Director (Personnel), Manish Kumar, hoisted the flag as the chief guest and extended his best wishes for 'World Environment Day' to everyone present.
Also present on the occasion were NCL Chief Vigilance Officer Ajay Kumar Jaiswal; Company JCC members Ashok Kumar Mishra (BMS), Lal Pushpraj Singh (RCSS), and Ashok Kumar Pandey (HMS); CMOAI representative Sarvesh Kumar Singh; as well as General Managers, Heads of Departments, and other officers and employees from the headquarters.
During the program, General Manager (Environment) Rakesh Kumar read out the message received from B Sairam, Chairman of NCL’s holding company Coal India Limited, on the occasion of Environment Day. Additionally, all those present took a pledge regarding their responsibilities towards environmental conservation.
At the conclusion of the event, Director (Personnel), the Chief Vigilance Officer, and others planted saplings within the headquarters complex as part of the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" (A Tree in Mother's Name) campaign.
'World Environment Day' 2026 was also celebrated with great enthusiasm across all NCL projects and units, featuring large-scale events such as tree plantation drives, competitions (painting, slogans, essays, etc.), and awareness rallies.
