Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Chairperson Rathendra Raman, Dy. Chairperson, CVO, MD, HDC, HoDs, officers and employees of SMPA took the Swacchata Pledge in unison, reaffirming SMPA's commitment and collective responsibility towards cleanliness, ecological & environmental sustainability and a greener port ecosystem. On the 76th Birthday of Prime Minister of India, who launched the "Ek Ped Maa ke Naam" Initiative on World Environment Day 2024, SMPA Medical Department carried out a Plantation Drive at the Centenary Hospital premises at Kolkata. Further reinforcing the link between cleanliness, personal hygiene and patient safety, the Medical Department also organised a hand-washing awareness campaign at the hospital on World Patient Safety Day 2026. With active participation from all members of the SMPA family, the SHS-26 Roll-out Campaign reinforces the message that Swacchata at SMPA is not merely an initiative, but a shared responsibility and a way of life.
