The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has fixed the interviews for the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) falling vacant on April 2, 2026.  As many as six internal candidates including three Directors and three Executive Directors are being interviewed on March 28, 2026. Those who are in the race include: Manish Raj Gupta, Director (Mining), SAIL with additional charge of CMD, RINL; Alok Verma, Director in-charge, RSP, SAIL; Dr Ashok Kumar Panda, Director Finance, SAIL; Bipin Kumar Giri, ED, SAIL; Munna Prasad, ED, SAIL and Anish Sengupta, ED, SAIL. Besides, external candidates are:  Krishna Gopal Agarwal, Director (Finance), RITES Limited; Anup Kumar Satpathy, PCSO, SECR and Dr Pudi Hariprasad, CAO/Treasury and Reconciliation, Railways and Chetan Prakash Jain, CMD, Central Electronic Limited.
