Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources) at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), visited the Banki Main Mines (9 & 10), Banki (9 & 10), Banki (7 & 8), Surakachhar (5 & 6), and AHQ within the Korba area to inspect works related to mine closure.

During his visit, he gathered information regarding the progress of mine closure activities, land reclamation, green development, safety management, and environmental restoration works. He sought detailed information from the concerned officials regarding various aspects of the mine closure plan and emphasized the importance of executing these works with high quality, in strict adherence to prescribed standards.

Describing mine closure as a significant initiative towards environmental conservation and sustainable development, Das stated that following the closure of mines, land reclamation, green development, and the creation of a safe and balanced environment are absolutely essential. He reiterated the need to execute these tasks with quality and in full compliance with established standards.

He instructed the officials to complete the mine closure works within the stipulated timeframe and to pay special attention to safety and environmental standards.

The General Manager of the Korba area, Heads of Departments, and other senior officials were present on this occasion.
