A significant milestone has been achieved in strengthening the nation’s clean energy transition with the signing of a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between THDC India Limited and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for sale of power from the THDCIL’s upcoming Kalai-II HEP (1200 MW) located in the North-Eastern region of India.

The agreement demonstrates the continued commitment of both organizations towards enhancing regional cooperation in the power sector, collaborative growth, sustainable development and strengthening of the national power sector especially in the green energy.

On this occasion, Sipan Kumar Garg, Chairman & Managing Director, THDCIL, appreciated the dedicated efforts of the teams of both organizations for successfully concluding the agreement. He stated that the partnership reflects a shared commitment towards development of clean energy infrastructure and strengthening the nation’s energy security.

Garg further highlighted that the Kalai-II HEP shall provide long-term environmental and economic benefits, besides supporting the Government of India’s vision for increasing the share of renewable and sustainable energy sources in the national energy mix.

The Power Purchase Agreement was signed by R K Verma, GM(Commercial) on behalf of THDC India Limited and Sanjay Mathur, GM (Commerce) on behalf of GUVNL. On this occasion Hemang Patel, Deputy Engineer (Commerce) from GUVNL, Neeraj Kumar AGM (Commercial-Finance) and other officers from THDCIL, GUVNL were also present during the occasion.
