As part of Operation Pravaah 2026, pontoon cleaning works were inaugurated at Chengalthodu today by S Suhas IAS, Managing Director, CIAL.

The initiative focuses on the removal of aquatic weeds, floating debris and other obstructions to enhance water flow and support environmental upkeep in the airport region. Covering canal stretches including Chengalthodu, Diversion Canal and Kaithakattuchira-thodu, the works are being carried out using Pontoon mounted excavators.

The initiative forms part of CIAL's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and effective waterway management in the areas surrounding the airport.
