No action despite vigilance report against corrupt officer in WAPCOS
Instead of taking punitive action against a senior corrupt officer despite complaints with the Prime Minister Office (PMO) and clear-cut instructions by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the officer is allegedly being promoted by the WAPCOS.
According to sources, a complaint was lodged with the PMO against the officer regarding alleged corruption. The PMO had forwarded the complaint to the Ministry that initiated a vigilance inquiry against him. The Ministry recommended appropriate action by the CMD of WAPCOS against the officer after the vigilance report.
Multiple allegations have already surfaced against the present CMD, and this latest development, sources claim, reflects a disturbing environment where accountability is absent and corrupt practices operate without fear.
