Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC, met P K Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries, Commerce, IT & AI, Government of Kerala, in New Delhi. He also met Puneet Kumar, IAS, Resident Commissioner, Government of Kerala.

During the meetings, discussions were held regarding the potential for development of Pumped Storage Power (PSP) and renewable energy projects in Kerala and their role in strengthening energy storage, grid flexibility and integration of renewable energy. Discussions also covered procurement of power from NHPC and through Renewable Energy Implementing Agencies (REIAs). CMD, NHPC highlighted NHPC’s expertise and capabilities in development of PSP and renewable energy projects and their potential contribution to Kerala’s evolving energy landscape. The Minister assured all possible support and cooperation to NHPC in exploring opportunities for development of such projects in the State.
