In the presence of CMD, NCL, N Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Human Resources), Manish Kumar, Director (Technical), Ashutosh Dwivedi, and Chief Vigilance Officer, Ajay Kumar Jaiswal, General Manager (CSR), Rajiv Ranjan, and Ravi Kiran of Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust, signed the MoU. Present on the occasion were CMS, NCL, Vivek Khare, Technical Secretary to the Director (Technical), Indranil Rai, General Manager (Mining), other officials, and local beneficiaries of the "Nanha Sa Dil-NCL" initiative.
In his address, CMD, N Franklin Jayakumar, praised NCL's "Nanha Sa Dil" initiative, calling it "mining with purpose." He stated that this initiative is serving as a true ally and reliable support for families by reaching out to children in need during times of crisis. He reiterated NCL's commitment to continuously pursuing public welfare CSR initiatives, emphasizing the overall development of the peripheral communities as NCL's priority.
Under the second phase of "Nanha Sa Dil-NCL," health services will be provided to children in Singrauli and Sonbhadra, and adjoining districts, at a cost of ₹9.17 crore. Under this initiative, the goal is to conduct 700 screening camps to screen 52,500 children, perform 1,600 echocardiograms, and provide free surgeries to children in need.
To bring screening closer to every little heart, camps will be organized in schools, Anganwadi centers, and health centers. This will enable early identification of children with heart problems and timely referral to Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani hospitals for specialized evaluation and surgery, among other treatments. The entire project, including screening activities, treatment, and follow-up, is planned to be completed in 24 months.
A notable feature of the 'Nanha-Sa-Dil-NCL' initiative is that, in addition to providing cardiac surgery/intervention services to affected children at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani hospitals, the company also provides free consultation, travel, accommodation, and post-treatment care to beneficiary families.
Children receiving treatment under the first phase of the "Nanha Sa Dil-NCL" initiative and their families were also present at the event. On this occasion, these children were presented with the "Gift of Life" by NCL and Sri Sathya Sai Sanjivani Hospital.
