M/s PNC Infratech Ltd plays role in installing Anurag Jain as CEO, NITI Aayog?
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has banned M/s PNC Infratech Ltd from participating in bidding for NHAI future projects after substandard works were exposed with deep potholes on Kanpur-Lucknow expressway.
It is reported that M/s PNC Infrastech Limited is owned by the powerful Jain brothers. Naveen Jain, who is presently BJP Member of Rajya Sabha from UP, has been Mayor of Agra from 2017 to 2026 and his brother Pradeep Kumar Jain is CMD of M/s PNC Infrastech Limited.
Rumour has it that a 1989 batch IAS officer, Anurag Jain is personally acquainted with Jain brothers due to Agra relations. It is said that Naveen Jain, who is a powerful politician in BJP, played a major role in installing Anurag Jain as Secretary, Road Transport & Highways before returning to cadre as Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh.
No sooner did the news of Anurag Jain of his appointment as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NITI Aayog percolate than it was rumoured that Jain brothers lobbied for him to the appointment of CEO in order to seek hassle free movement in the projects as CEO, NITI Aayog is also Member in the NHAI.
