At World Space Business Week 2026 in Paris, a productive meeting was held with Satsearch to explore opportunities for investment, technology and innovation in Maharashtra’s space sector.

The discussions also explored the proposal for Maharashtra to develop and launch its own satellite, with potential applications in agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, and connectivity in remote and hilly regions. A detailed study will be undertaken to assess the feasibility and potential impact of this initiative.

The meeting was held in the presence of Minister of Industries, Dr Udayji Samant, along with Dr. P Anbalagan (IAS), Principal Secretary, Industries Department; Dr. Kadambari Balkawade (IAS), Industries Commissioner; and Dr. Kunal Khemnar (IAS), Joint Chief Executive Officer, MIDC.
