A  General Manager in Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL) has come under scrutiny after the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu directed the Chairman-cum-Managing Director, MFL to take necessary action as per law against him for allegedly holding the post of General Manager and availing benefits by submitting a bogus Scheduled Tribe Community Certificate.

Taking serious note of the complaint filed by the MFL SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, the Chennai District Collector verified the caste certificate in question. The verification revealed that no such record exists in the Collectorate's register.

Based on the Collector's report, the Chairman, State Level Scrutiny Committee-III, Social Justice Department, Government of Tamil Nadu has requested the CMD, MFL to take appropriate action against the official concerned as per law
