Ketan Garg, IAS, Commissioner, GVMC, inspected the Meghadrigedda Reservoir and directed officials to undertake a comprehensive assessment of water levels, water availability and catchment conditions to strengthen the city’s future drinking water planning.

A detailed 10-year water-level analysis will be prepared, identifying years with significant decline, while a drone survey will be conducted as the first step towards planning desilting and dredging works. The initiative reflects GVMC’s continued focus on sustainable water resource management and long-term water security for Visakhapatnam.
