Sushil Kumar Lohani, Chairman, Inland Waterways Authority of India, chaired a high-level coordination meeting in Agra with the Divisional Commissioner, Agra; District Magistrate, Agra; Vice Chairman, Agra Development Authority; Municipal Commissioner, Agra; senior officials from Irrigation, PWD and other stakeholder departments.

The meeting focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination for the development of inland waterways and river-based tourism infrastructure in the Agra-Mathura region of UttarPradesh. Discussions centred on the development of offshore and onshore facilities associated with the proposed jetties at Mathura.

Lohani emphasised the importance of coordinated and time-bound action by IWAI, the district administration and concerned State and local agencies to translate these proposals into tangible outcomes and unlock the region’s immense potential for tourism, Connectivity and sustainable inland waterways development.
