The International Heavy Haul Seminar 2026, organized by DFCCIL and CHHRR&D, successfully concluded at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

Over two days, the seminar brought together an eminent gathering of railway leaders, policymakers, researchers, technology providers, industry experts, and delegates from India and across the globe. The event was led by Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, DFCCIL, alongside Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director/Operations & Business Development; Anurag Sharma, Director/Infrastructure; Pawan K Rai, Director/Project Planning; and Parmod Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer, DFCCIL. The seminar was further enriched by the participation of Ms. Kari Gonzales, President & CEO, MxV Rail, USA, and President, International Heavy Haul Association (IHHA), along with distinguished international experts, fostering meaningful dialogue and the exchange of global best practices for the future of heavy haul railway systems.

The event was graced by senior Railway Board officials, including Hitendra Malhotra, Director General/Safety; Dr. Manoj Singh, Additional Member/Business Development; Shyam Sunder Gupta, Principal Executive Director/Infrastructure; and R S Chaturvedi, Executive Director/Infrastructure-II, reaffirming the collective commitment towards innovation, safety, and operational excellence in freight transportation.

A major highlight of the seminar was the Technology & Innovation Exhibition, which showcased cutting-edge railway technologies, advanced maintenance solutions, intelligent monitoring systems, and research-driven innovations from leading national and international organizations.

As the curtains close on IHHS 2026, the conversations, collaborations, and ideas generated over these two days will continue to inspire the next chapter of freight rail development—driving greater reliability, efficiency, resilience, and sustainability across heavy haul railway systems.
