Inordinate delay in appointment of Acharya as CMD, NLC

The Government of India is yet to issue the orders for the appointment of Prasanna Kumar Acharya, Director (Finance), NLC as Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NLC India Limited. The post has been lying vacant since July 1, 2026 after the retirement of Motupalli. Acharya was selected among seven candidates on April 15, 2026.

However, Sanoj Kumar Jha, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, is holding an additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director of NLC.
