IIM Bangalore: Five alumni, five careers, one powerful evening
IIM Bangalore came alive with stories of grit, purpose, and giving back, as five distinguished alumni were honoured with the DAA 2026 at the PGP & PGPBA Reorientation Ceremony.

Arun Pai, civic leader and the man behind The Ugly Indian and Bangalore Walks, put it simply: "If you want to change the world, start with your own street."

Rashmi Mohanty, CFO of SBI Cards and one of India's early women ultramarathon runners, reminded the room that careers are long games: "You cannot run anybody else's race. You can only run your own race."

And Dipesh Shah, CTO of Havells India, left students with three words to live by: ambition, humility, and gratitude: "Shift the narrative from what do I deserve to what will I offer. Trust me, it will compound." Manish Tiwary and Karthik Reddy sent in their acceptance speeches through heartfelt video messages.

The evening also saw addresses by Prof. U Dinesh Kumar, Director-in-charge, IIMB, Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, Dean, Alumni Relations & Development, and SAC president Shreyaunsh Ajit Patil. The ceremony also recognized 58 students for academic excellence through the Director's Merit List and Director's Honours List and awarded 14 scholarships to 20 students.
