A moment of accolade for GMDC as its Surkha Lignite Mine, Bhavnagar receives “OMC Mining Happiness ESG Award” for the year 2025-26 at the 60th Annual General Meeting of FIMI, held in New Delhi. The award was conferred by Keshav Chandra, IAS, Secretary-Ministry of Mines.

This recognition reflects the collective efforts of GMDC in advancing the responsible mining practices and dedication towards environmental, social and governance (ESG) excellence creating value through a more sustainable approach to resource development.
