FACT pays tribute to its former CMD
The Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) paid solemn tribute to the late Kishor Rungta, former CMD, at a condolence meeting held on January 12, at FACT Udyogamandal Club. Anupam Misra, Director (Marketing) & In charge CMD; S Sakthimani, Director (Finance) and Dr Jayachandran K, Director (Technical) were also present on this occasion. The staff members say his visionary leadership and values continue to inspire the company. The staff members also expressed heartfelt condolences to his family and prayed for eternal soul rest in peace. Notably, he passed away due to cardiac arrest in Assam on January 9, 2026.

Rungta, who turned the ailing Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) around, had been serving as CMD, FACT, since February 2, 2019.

He was also the Vice Chairman of SCOPE, which is the apex professional Organisation representing the Central Government Public Enterprises. He was the Chairman of FAI Southern Region which is the apex body of Fertilizer Manufacturers. Previously he worked in the capacity of Director (Finance) of Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Atomic Energy since February 1, 2013. He worked as Director (Finance) and Acting Chairman & Managing Director of Hindustan Cables Limited, National Instruments Limited and Bharat Bhaari Udyog Limited.

He had got almost 16 years of Board Level experience in various Public Sector Undertakings. Rungta was a qualified Cost Accountant and Law Graduate. He had an illustrious career of over 33 years in different Industrial Establishments of repute both in Public and Multinational Private Sector Companies like Grasim Industries, Modi Group of Industries, Essar Steel, ISPAT Industries, MMTC promoted Steel Plant in Orissa covering sectors such as Cement, Steel, Cables, Strategic Electronics and Fertilisers in different capacities.
