With the creation of four additional seats of Judges in Supreme Court, the process of filling posts of Judges in Supreme Court as well as High Courts sped up.

Discussions are also underway regarding the appointment of new Chief Justices of various High Courts, as some incumbent Chief Justices and senior judges are likely to be elevated or transferred to the Supreme Court.

As per available information, the names of certain senior judges from the Calcutta High Court are also under consideration for elevation. Sources further indicate that factors such as seniority, regional representation, and social/caste matrix are being deliberated upon during the consultative process.
