Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, DFCCIL, met with Dr K Murugesan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) & Head of Forest Force (HoFF), Odisha, and G Rajesh, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Forest Diversion), Government of Odisha, regarding the proposed East–West Dedicated Freight Corridor (EWDFC).

The discussions focused on strengthening coordination, streamlining administrative processes, and facilitating project-related requirements for the smooth and timely implementation of the corridor. Deliberations were also held on matters concerning environmental stewardship and sustainable infrastructure development in alignment with the project's objectives.

The East–West Dedicated Freight Corridor, connecting Surat and Dankuni, is a transformative freight infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing logistics efficiency, increasing freight capacity, reducing transportation costs, and supporting industrial and economic growth across the region.

Ashish Mishra, GM/Security/EDFC, and Souvik Sengupta, GM/Coordination/Kolkata, accompanied the Managing Director during the meeting.
