The Government of India had facilitated ‘virtual meetings’ and ‘work from home’ in various Departments and Ministries in order to avoid spreading deadly strain of COVID-19, which lasted at least two years. And, all the Government offices have resumed offline works and started attending offices soon after the COVID-19 stopped existing.

On the contrary, the practice of virtual selection meetings is still going on at the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). PESB Chairperson, Mrs Mallika Srinivasan is still holding virtual selection meetings, due to unavailability. She already expressed concern, but the Government continues her as Chairperson. Mrs Srinivasan is also CMD, Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE).

However, the mandatory presence of the Chairperson has been eliminated for the selections of Board Members in Schedule ‘B’ and ‘C’ categories PSUs.

Mrs Srinivasan, who had joined the PESB on April 1, 2021, has been accorded an extension for a period of one year upto November 18 2026, for the second time.
