The Ministry of Jal Shakti has asked the Chairman-cum-Managing Director, WAPCOS to look into the irregularity in promotion of an officer from Chief Engineer to General Manager. The Ministry swung into action after a complainant took up the matter with the Prime Minister Office (PMO) alleging that the promotion was made contravening recruitment rules. The CVO has also furnished a report suggesting violation of recruitment rules. The CMD appears to be on the horns of a dilemma as the officer is a close confidant
