CMPDI Celebrates World Environment Day 2026
Chaudhari Shivraj Singh, CMD, CMPDI, unfurled the CIL Environment Flag and administered the World Environment Day pledge to employees on the occasion of World Environment Day- 2026 at CMPDI (HQ), Ranchi. During the occasion, Rajeev Kumar Sinha, Director (T/ES), read out the message of the Chairman, CIL, highlighting the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainable development. The event was attended by Ajay Kumar, Director (T/P&D); Nripendra Nath, Director (T/CRD); R K Singh, ED (Exploration), CIL, along with other senior officials of CMPDI.

Addressing the gathering, Singh emphasized that environmental protection requires a fundamental change in mindset, advocating harmonious co-existence with nature and the adoption of sustainable practices in everyday life. He urged employees to actively contribute towards reducing pollution, conserving natural resources, and promoting environmental responsibility.

Singh also highlighted CMPDI’s commitment to sustainable mining and environmental management through initiatives such as First Mile Connectivity (FMC) and the adoption of advanced technologies to mitigate environmental impacts. He further said, that CMPDI aims to contribute meaningfully to climate change mitigation while supporting the nation’s energy and development goals.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions like Quiz, Drawing, Painting and Reels competitions organised as a prelude to World Environment Day 2026. The programme concluded with a plantation drive under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative, wherein the CMD along with Sr. officials of CMPDI planted saplings to promote greenery and environmental sustainability across the campus.
