After a vacancy of Director (Human Resources), three more vacancies including CMD, Director (Finance) and Director (Engineering, Research & Development) on the Board of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) are arising in 2027. However, the Government of India is yet to issue notifications for the vacancies. Accordingly, a vacancy of Director (Human Resources) arose in March, 2026 with the incumbent Krishna Kumar Thakur switching over to another PSU, while the tenure of S M Ramanathan, Director (Engineering, Research & Development) is coming to an end in January 2027. Besides, Koppu Sadashiv Murthy, Chairman & Managing Director and Tajinder Gupta, Director (Power), are retiring in February 2027.
