A preponderance of Railway Officers on NMDC Board

A preponderance of Railway Officers on NMDC Board
With the joining of two new Railway officers, the NMDC Board is now predominantly Railways’ community. Out of five existing functional Board members, three officers are from Railway Services apart from Chief Vigilance Officer who also belongs to Railway Service.

Accordingly, Amitava Mukherjee, who belongs to Indian Railway Accounts Services (IRAS) of 1996 batch, has been serving as Chairman and Managing Director of NMDC Limited since March 6, 2025 before working as Director (Finance) since November 2018.

Krishna Kumar Thakur, who is a 1998 batch officer of the Indian Railway Personnel Service, joined NMDC Limited as Director (Personnel) on March 19, 2026.

After the joining of Anurag Kapil, an officer of Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) of 1998 batch, on the Board as Director (Finance), the NMDC becomes a preponderance of Railway Officers.

Besides, it sounds more interesting that C Neelakanta Reddy, an officer of Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) of 1997 batch, appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), will keep a beady eye on them.
