Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) inaugurated its Energy Management Dashboard to improve energy efficiency and optimize power costs across its mining operations. The dashboard was inaugurated by CMD, WCL, Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, in the presence of Director (Technical/Operations) Anandji Prasad and Director (Technical/Planning & Projects) S Paranjape.

The Dashboard was developed by the Systems Department under the leadership of GM (Systems) P G Chaudhary and in coordination with MSEDCL, the dashboard aims to provide real-time monitoring and analysis of electricity consumption. Its features were demonstrated by GM (E&M) Manoj Ade and his team.

The dashboard tracks prompt payment rebate savings, contract demand penalties, underutilized demand losses, power factor performance, reactive power management, and load patterns. It also incorporates Demand Side Management tools for peak demand reduction and energy optimization.

CMD Dr. Pande appreciated the initiative, stating that digital technologies and data analytics are vital for operational excellence, sustainability, and cost-effective growth. The dashboard marks another milestone in WCL’s digital transformation journey.
