The valedictory function of the CSR Skill Development Training Programme of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority was held today, marking the successful completion of industry-oriented training conducted in association with the Centre of Excellence in Maritime & Shipbuilding (CEMS), under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

Through seven skill development programmes, 175 candidates were trained across various job roles, with 146 candidates successfully placed, achieving an impressive placement rate of 83%.

As part of the Engineering Students’ Training Programme, 35 trainees who completed the CNC Operator (Industrial Automation) course secured placements at Rialto Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. with a monthly salary of ₹23,000.

Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson, V O Chidambaranar Port Authority, presented course completion certificates to the successful trainees in the presence of Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Deputy Chairperson, senior officers of the Port, Commander Gopi Krishna Sivvam, IN (Retd.), Chief Operating Officer, CEMS, and Prajit Kurup, Programme Coordinator, CEMS.

The initiative reflects VOC Port’s continued commitment to empowering youth through industry-relevant skills and creating meaningful employment opportunities.
