UPDIC showcases UP's Defence Manufacturing Vision
The summit, themed "Strategic Electronics for Modern Warfare: Intelligence Driven, Tech Powered," brought together policymakers, defence electronics manufacturers, strategic technology companies, industry leaders, academia, startups and global aerospace and defence firms to deliberate on strengthening India's strategic electronics ecosystem and advancing indigenous capabilities in defence electronics manufacturing.
A major highlight of the summit was the participation of Col. Sanjay Singh, Chief General Manager, UPDIC, as a distinguished speaker during the inaugural panel discussion titled "Accelerating Defence Strategic Electronics Manufacturing: State Government and Industry Initiatives." The panel featured senior representatives from leading global aerospace and defence companies, including Safran and Boeing, along with Dr Avinash Menon Rajendran, IAS, Managing Director, Karnataka Industrial and Aerospace Development Enterprise (KITS), senior officials from Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), and other industry experts. The session was graced by the Chief Minister of Karnataka, D K Shivakumar, who underscored the importance of collaborative efforts among governments, industry and academia to build a globally competitive and self-reliant defence electronics ecosystem.
