At the directives of the Uttar Pradesh Government, the theme for the tree plantation campaign under the Tree Plantation Campaign 2026 is "One Tree for Mother." As per the instructions given by the Honorable Chief Minister, 35 crore saplings are to be planted across the state in a single day.

In this context, the Horticulture Department, under the leadership and direction of Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh, organized a tree plantation program in the Yamuna Authority area.

On the occasion of the tree plantation, Additional Chief Executive Officer Shailendra Kumar Bhatia and Rajesh Kumar planted saplings in the 50-meter-wide green belt of Sector 22.

General Manager (Projects) Rajendra Singh Bhati, Dr Aarti Singh, Assistant Director (Horticulture), and other officers and employees were also present.

School children from Ronija village also planted saplings on this occasion and were educated about the importance of trees. Each child was given a sapling and encouraged to appreciate the benefits of trees and to protect and care for them.

Thereafter, about 77,000 saplings were planted at various places in the Yamuna Authority area, in which native species like Neem, Peepal, Banyan, Arjun, Pilkhan etc. were planted.
