THDC celebrates Yoga Day
On this occasion, Sipan Kumar Garg, Managing Director, THDCIL, highlighted the significance of this year’s International Yoga Day theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” Garg stated that Yoga is a holistic way of life that promotes physical fitness, mental well-being, emotional balance, and inner harmony. Emphasizing the growing importance of healthy and active ageing, he encouraged employees and their family members to adopt Yoga as a regular practice for achieving a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life.
The programme commenced with the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, followed by the Common Yoga Protocol session conducted by expert instructors.
Addressing the gathering at Corporate Office, Rishikesh L P Joshi, CTO, THDCIL, described Yoga as India’s invaluable gift to humanity that has transcended geographical boundaries and emerged as a global movement for health and wellness.
The celebration included the practice of various asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques aimed at improving flexibility, concentration, and overall well-being. Employees and their family members enthusiastically participated in the Yoga session, reflecting their commitment towards a healthy lifestyle.
During the occasion, Dr. A N Tripathy, CGM (HR-Admin, CC, HRD, L&A & S&E), Ajay Goel, CGM (MPS, Liaison Office Dehradun), and other senior officials of THDCIL were also present. International Day of Yoga celebrations further reinforced the organization’s commitment to employee wellness and the promotion of India’s rich cultural heritage.
