SJVN Limited celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at its Corporate Headquarters in Shimla and across all its Projects and Units.

On this occasion, Bhupender Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN, extended warm greetings to the employees and exhorted them to contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

At Corporate Headquarters, Shimla, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), hoisted the National Flag, in the august presence of Rajesh Kumar Chandel, Director (Projects), Pankaj Porwal, Chief Vigilance Officer and employees of the company.

Ajay Kumar Sharma highlighted the expanding portfolio of SJVN marked by the inauguration of the 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Station, Rajasthan and commissioning of 75 MW Jamui Solar Power Station, Bihar and 70 MW Dhubri Solar Power Station, Assam in year 2026. He apprised that the second unit of 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project, Bihar is also set to be commissioned shortly.

Ajay Kumar Sharma also inaugurated a Crèche in the office building of SJVN. The facility is aimed at fostering an inclusive workplace by supporting the employees, especially working mothers, to balance their professional life and family responsibilities.

As part of the celebrations, an Inter-Departmental Competition ‘Vande Mataram’ was also organised. The winners of the competition were felicitated by Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel) and Rajesh Kumar Chandel, Director (Projects).

The celebrations showcased SJVN’s spirit of patriotism and collective resolve towards contributing to the vision of sustainable and energy secure future.
