Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Limited Bhupender Gupta along with Director (Projects), Rajesh Kumar Chandel, called on Ministers and senior officials of the Government of Nepal to discuss key issues concerning SJVN's hydropower projects in Nepal. They were accompanied by Pankaj Chaudhary, CEO, SAPDC & SLPDC.

During the visit, he met  Minister for Finance, Dr. Swarnim Wagle; Minister for Energy, Water Resources & Irrigation, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha; Secretary, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources & Irrigation, Mrs Sarita Dawadi; Acting CEO of Investment Board Nepal, Nabin Raj Singh and Ambassador of India to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava.

The discussions focused on key implementation issues concerning SJVN's hydropower projects in Nepal, including the 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project and 669 MW Lower Arun Hydro Electric Project. Deliberations covered the progress of ongoing works of Arun-3 HEP, associated transmission infrastructure, timely statutory clearances and inter-agency coordination for successful execution of these strategically important cross-border hydropower projects.

The  Ministers and senior officials reaffirmed the Government of Nepal's continued support for successful commissioning of these hydropower projects, which will enhance Nepal's hydropower capacity, promote clean energy and strengthen India–Nepal energy partnership.
